East-West Fire Services is a family-owned and operated company established by Robyn and Laurie Brown in 2001.
In the beginning, we worked as a contractor for Wormald under the name Brown Enterprises.
In February 2003, we branched out with our trading name. Seven years later, we hired our first employee, and the company has been growing ever since.

Today, East-West Fire Services is proud to be the go-to company for all fire-related requirements of residential and commercial clients in North Queensland.
From our office in Garbutt, we serve Mount Isa, Rockhampton, Mackay, and Far North Queensland and Papua New Guinea. We have flown all over Australia to fit fire suppression systems.
East-West Fire Services is fully licensed with QBCC Our QBCC Licence is 744157, and we are affiliated with FPA Australia and the National Fire Industry Association of Australia. We have 11 employees, adding up to a total of 73 years’ combined industry experience.
We can help with choosing and installing the right fire equipment for your facility, as well as inspecting and servicing fire safety products.
Our company sells fire equipment from reputable brands like QTec, Chubb, Ansul, FPA, Sandvik, and Flamestop.
We can also assist with vehicle fire suppression systems and mine maintenance, and we provide six-month servicing carried out per Australian Standards.

Lawrence Brown – Company Director and Senior Technician, with 28 years’ experience in the fire protection industry.
He is licensed for fire protection equipment (QBCC Licence # 744310)—extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, Emergency/Exit lighting systems, and alarm panels.
Along with Certificate 111 in Asset Maintenance (Fire Protection Equipment), he also has a Statement of Attainment in elective unit PRMPRES42A – install, inspect, test, and maintain pre-engineered fire systems for transportable equipment.
Lawrence holds Certificate Two in Asset Maintenance, Certificate Four in Train the Trainer, and is also licensed to test and tag electrical equipment.
He has undergone training at QTec Fire and is qualified to maintain and install QTec Fire suppression Systems.
Dwayne Staehr – Service Technician with 10 years of industry experience and is licensed for fire protection equipment (QBCC License # 1277080)—extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, Emergency/Exit lighting systems, and alarm panels. Dwayne has also undergone training under Lawrence Brown in Fire Suppression systems and has a Statement of Attainment in elective unit PRMPRES42A – install, inspect, test, and maintain pre-engineered fire systems for transportable equipment.
Adrian Woo – Service Technician with 16 years of industry experience. Adrian is licensed for fire protection equipment (QBCC License # 1199056)—extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, Emergency/Exit lighting systems, and alarm panels. A registered trainer, Adrian also conducts Fire Extinguisher and Fire Warden training.
Aaron Snary
Sprinkler fitter / Service Technician with 7 years sprinkler fitting experience and 11 years in the industry (QBCC License 1273591). Aaron also has extensive training on Vehicle Fire Suppression systems as well as a special hazards license.
Lachlan Lucas 1st year Sprinkler fitter apprentice with 3 years industry experience. Lachlan is fully trained in vehicle fire suppression systems with experience on Australian and Papua New Guinea mine sites.
Adam Plozza Electrician with 11 years' experience and is currently studying his Certificate II in Fire Protection. Electrical License 128511.
